What Is Krav Maga?                      Krav Maga Gabi Noah

Krav-Maga (litterally 'Contact Combat" in Hebrew) is the highly effective, battle tested, Israeli system of self defence, fighting skills and defensive tactics.

Originally developed for the Israeli Defence Forces, Krav Maga has since quickly gained interest with Military, Law Enforcement and Civilians around the world.

Based on simple principles and instinctive movements, Krav Maga is a modern day reality-based system that is designed to teach pratical self defence skills in the shortest possible time.

Krav Maga teaches how to function under the stress and shock of a sudden, violent attack and to defend against common chokes, bear hugs, headlocks, attacks on the ground and against weapons such as sticks, knives and guns.

What makes Krav Maga different?

  • Krav Maga teaches realistic proven self protection training

Krav Maga was not developed in the Dojo or training gym by masters in white uniforms speculating on what could possibly work. Krav Maga was forged in the Israeli army through real life confrontations. Krav Maga is built on real experience from real life situations in which people were able to save their lives or paid the ultimate price

  • Krav Maga is designed to develop self defence skills quickly

Systems which require acquiring a black belt level and many years of training before they can be used effectively for self protection did not fulfill the requirements of the Israeli army. Krav Maga was designed to train soldiers in a relatively short period to be highly effective in fighting before they have to go into combat.

  • Krav Maga is a dynamic system.

Krav Maga is always evolving to suit the needs of an ever evolving reality. We train the top combat military, law enforcement and security teams in Israel and around the world. The knowledge and experience of these experts is always being incorporated into the system. Where other systems have stopped developing hundreds of years ago, Krav Maga is always evolving and incorporating new knowledge. Again, this knowledge comes from real experience of what works and not from speculation.

  • We train for reality.

There are no rules and no contests in Krav Maga. We train for the street. We train to fight against multiple attackers, attackers armed with weapons; we learn to fight under stress and when caught by surprise, we train inside vehicles, on the ground, in confined spaces and much more. Our goal is also different. We are not looking for a knockout or a victory. We are looking to protect ourselves in a violent situation and remove ourselves from a dangerous situation safely.
